That's right. Shayne has said her first word. I am counting it. And I think my affirmation means more than just the proud mother's because I've taken classes where we discussed such things as 1st words and what really counts as one. So, it is the cutest thing. One day I am folding laundry in her room and my cell phone is on the ground. She picks it up and places it near her ear and says. . . "Ha." She does this several times on either ear so I know it isn't just a fluke. So she is spontaneously using it, in the correct context, and she does it several times so I know it's really what I think it is. . She said "Hi!" Since then she has actually said it where is sounds more like 'hi' and less like 'ha', but she also has used a sock and a block instead of a phone. And one time she pointed to a lady in the grocery store on her phone and said "hi." Funny girl!
You can't see it but that's my phone she's holding in her hand.

Sunny Days in AZ
We took a little trip down to AZ to visit my family. It was really so much fun. I loved not having to put on several layers of warm clothing on myself and on Shayne just to get out of the house. It really made me miss my family down there and the warm weather (I know, 6 months out of the year it's hotter than h*** as Danny kept reminding me when I would say, "you should look for a job in Arizona"). Sarah had her baby shower and it was fun to go to and to talk to her about baby stuff. I feel like I know so much now : )
Thank you Brett for Shayne's fashionable look on this day. Really, I was doing laundry because I ran out of onesies for her. The 80s are coming back, you KNOW you did the one shoulder overalls.

Halloween!
Our little lady bug! My mom got this costume for her and I just laughed with adoration when I put it on her. Friday, I took her down to Danny's work in her outfit and showed her around. Then Saturday we went to a few houses and delivered some apple cider donuts (homemade by myself and delicious I thought--I was very impressed with how far I've come) to a few neighbors as a reverse trick-or-treat.
The end.
The end.
Snowbird
Danny's sister from CA came to visit and we thought we'd go ride the tram up at Snowbird and see the fall colors. It was a gorgeous day! There were a couple of problems though: the tram was closed for cleaning and the leaves were all off of the trees up the canyon. So we ate lunch instead outside and took some photos.
Grandparents Visit and BYU Game
My parents came to visit for a fall football game. What a treat! My mom was gracious enough to watch Shayne for me so I could go. The day was snowy/ rainy and BYU did not play the best, but we had a great time anyway.
Trying to show our school spirit. Our friend Allison was a trooper to enter into the evil Lavell Edwards Stadium as she is a definite, bone-i-fied Ute fan.
Thanks mom and dad!

Danny signed us up for the tailgate party in the alumni house before the game. We even saw some guys from our freshman year there. Allison thought it was a bit different from the Ute tailgate parties she had been a part of back in the day.
My mom brought some Christmas presents for Shayne and I convinced her that it was much more fun to open them while she was here. Christmas in October! If you know me, you know I cannot stand to wait for surprises/gifts and I can't stand not knowing things too-- if there is a secret, I'm usually dying to know it.
Thanks mom and dad!
